Schloß-Holte Stukenbrock

The town of Schloss Holte-Stukenbrock is located in the Ems sand plain in the central area of the Senne. With the Holter Forest, the Furlbachtal and parts of the Moosheide with the Ems sources, there are large contiguous forests within the city limits.

The former prisoner of war camp »Stalag 326 (VI K) Senne« was located in what is now the city. A memorial in the Soviet Cemetery of Honor today commemorates the dark times during the Second World War. The Holte Hunting Lodge and the Heimathaus are a magnet for history and nature lovers. The Safariland Stukenbrock offers excursions for the whole family.

The sources of the Ems are located in the Moosheide area. Via the “Ems-Erlebnisweg”, hikers can observe how the Ems is formed from numerous source outlets into what is initially a small stream. The “Romantic Furlbach” adventure tour takes nature enthusiasts through the old beech forests of the Furlbach valley.
